El Centro Nacional de Tuberculosis del Sureste (Southeastern National Tuberculosis Center [SNTC]) es uno de los cuatro centros de "entrenamiento regional y recomendaciones mdicas" fundado por el Centro de Control y Prevencin de Enfermedades (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention[CDC]), Divisin Eliminacin de la Tuberculosis, para apoyar los esfuerzos de prevencin y tratamiento de la Tuberculosis a travs de entrenamiento, provisin de productos educacionales, asistencia tcnica, y recomendacin mdica. Fundado a travs de un acuerdo cooperativo entre el Departamento de Salud y el CDC, el SNTC proporciona servicios a los 11 estados del sureste, Puerto Rico y las Islas Vrgenes de EUA.

The Southeastern National Tuberculosis Center (SNTC) is one of four Regional Training and Medical Consultation Centers (RTMCC) in the United States.

The RTMCCs are funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Tuberculosis Elimination. The four centers are:

Who We Are

SNTC Region

The SNTC supports the education and training missions of TB programs throughout our region and provides a source of expert medical consultation for healthcare providers caring for TB patients. We serve 11 southeastern states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The Florida Department of Health (DOH), in a cooperative agreement with the CDC, has contracted with the University of Florida College of Medicine to provide and coordinate our services at the Gainesville campus, where our central office is located.

    The University of Florida is one of the nations largest health center complexes and includes:
  • College of Dentistry
  • College of Medicine
  • College of Nursing
  • College of Public Health and Health Professions
  • College of Pharmacy
  • College of Veterinary Medicine

The UF Health Science Center encompasses thousands of faculty, residents, fellows and students with nearly $300 million in research awards and numerous clinical care options.

The other major component of the SNTC is AG Holley State Hospital, located in Lantana, Florida. AG Holley Hospital serves as Floridas only public health hospital dedicated to the cure of tuberculosis and is an integral part of the Florida Department of Health, Division of Disease Control TB Control Program. With a mission of "assure the cure," AG Holley is recognized as a center of excellence in the treatment and cure of patients with tuberculosis.

    SNTC Clinical Training Campus at AG Holley Hospital provides:
  • Onsite clinical intensive courses
  • The SNTC mini-fellowship experience
  • Grand rounds lectures onsite and broadcast throughout the region
  • The hub for Medical Consultation Service
    Our other major partners are:
  • The DOH Bureau of TB & Refugee Health
  • The University of South Florida
  • The AIDS Education and Training Center

SNTC staff is an important part of our organization.

What We Do

    All efforts of the SNTC are guided by these principles:
  • To control and eventually eliminate tuberculosis
  • To include, communicate with and provide accountability to our stakeholders
  • To provide state-of-the-art treatment and training methodologies
  • To appreciate the diversity, history and technical expertise of the TB providers in our region
  • To align with the National Strategic Plan for Tuberculosis Training and Education goals

After a thorough, inclusive needs assessment, we will develop appropriate materials and provide you with the training, technical assistance and medical consultation that meet your needs. Training is offered at our primary training site, AG Holley Hospital, and at other locations throughout our region.
