From Your Friends at the Southeastern National Tuberculosis Center..."Put this stamp with message brightOn every Christmas letter;Help the tuberculosis fight,And make the New Year better."This message, included with the first distribution of Christmas Seals in 1907, is still fitting in 2008!These 1979 and 1980 ALA Christmas Seals were designed by children from all over the world and are part of the collection held by the American Lung Association of Virginia. The 1979 stamps we used for this holiday greeting are photographs of the actual stamps. The 1980 stamps are photographs taken of a scarf which incorporated the stamps. The scarf used the traditional Christmas tree design to arrange the stamps and presented the design on an orange background.
