Happy New Year SNTC at UF,

Welcome to the Southeastern National Tuberculosis Center (SNTC) e-newsletter.

All of us at SNTC are excited to share the new year with you.  We hope that in 2015 we are able to learn together, and collaboratively work together to assure the cure.

In this revamped newsletter, you will notice an abbreviated format with links to key additional information. Your feedback and suggestions are always welcomed for future content. We hope this format will be more useful to you.

We are your Tuberculosis Training and Medical Consultation Center for the southeastern United States. Send us your updates from the field or any information you would like to share. We love to see pictures of what you are doing.  We hope to hear from you often.

Best wishes for a successful 2015.  We are pleased to be your partner in the fight against TB.

MEDICAL CONSULTATION SERVICE

24 hour hotline

In 2014 scientists announced that a new TB treatment regimen has proven effective in early-phase research. From here, the drug regimen goes on to a large clinical trial to confirm the results. If this new treatment regimen pans out, it could dramatically reduce the time it takes to cure drug-resistant TB and save poor countries billions of dollars in health-care costs.
