2015 Awards Nomination and Registration



This is the sixth year that the NTCA will be honoring individuals or organizations for their dedication and distinguished service in the field of TB. 

Nominations can be submitted by anyone, and nominees do not need to be members of NTCA. The award categories are described in the Awards Announcement. To nominate a colleague you must submit a completed nomination form.  Awards will be presented at the 2015 National TB Conference on Wednesday, June 10th  in Atlanta, GA.

Treating LTBI in Special Situations


This self-paced course consists of interactive case-based modules relevant for the healthcare provider who treats TB infection.  The course may be completed online or via a CD ordered from the SNTC website. Five reference books are also included. 


A total of 4.0 CE/CME are provided to those who pass the online evaluation with the required minimum score of 70%.

Arresting TB: Contact Investigation & Release Planning in Corrections 


This 3-day course focuses on key concepts for conducting contact investigation and release planning within a correctional setting.  The training is designed to enhance communication and collaboration between local health departments and corrections personnel to improve contact investigation outcomes.  The content also provides topics to facilitate inmate release planning with a goal of improving the completion of treatment and minimizing transmission.

Through role play, group discussion and exercises, participants will be able to identify TB cases and contacts, make referrals as appropriate, participate in various aspects of a corrections contact investigation, and ensure an inmate's continuity of care upon release to the community or to other facilities.

Enhanced Skills for Public Health Corrections Liaisons


This one-day course is designed for staff who fulfill the role of the
Public Health Corrections Liaison or who work closely with public health and corrections facilities to control TB. 


Attendees of this small group training will learn directly from experts in the field about the key roles of the Corrections Liaison, including skills for assessing and controlling TB, identifying needs for training, and establishing strong collaborations between agencies.  The 3-day Contact Investigations and Release Planning course is a pre-requisite. 


Application of skills will be demonstrated during a jail tour utilizing tools from SNTC's Corrections Toolkit.

The Southeastern National Tuberculosis Center is one of five Regional Training and Medical Consultation Centers (RTMCCs) funded by the CDC.
