The tool assists with determining the infectious period during a TB contact investigation. It aids in identifying the period of time that an infected person may transmit TB disease to others, based on CDC’s 2005 guidelines. The tool helps identify priority contacts and determine if retesting is necessary based on the eight-week window. This tool should not be used as a substitute for professional judgment in determining infectious period. This tool should be used in partnership with a TB expert who can walk you through the dose counting process.
